Worship

Family Worship at Mass is the most important part of our Curriculum. Catholic parents don’t need to have all the answers. Yet, as the primary and principal educators of your children, it is important that you are faithful to Church. Worship with your children at a weekend Liturgy. Let them see young and old alike at Mass in community prayer and celebration. Remember that they cannot bring themselves, so you, who are their greatest influence, must show them the way.

Safe Environment

Empowering God’s Children

Instructions: Watch the (1) Video and complete the (2) Lessons below.
Deadline: Signature forms due January 8^th,  2025.

A Virtus program for children in conjunction with parents to watch and review lessons which includes an age-appropriate video component along with engaging learning activities. The material is designed to better equip your child to know their safety rights, recognize their boundaries, and to empower them to protect themselves when safe adults are not immediately available—and ultimately be safer from people who might want to harm them.
As parents delivering this content to their children, there is a helpful resource guide to assist in delivering each lesson if you choose to use it. This resource, “Teaching Boundaries and Safety Guide” will help you the parent have better insight about conducting the lesson. Following the lesson, we encourage you to continue reinforcing the message at home whenever possible.

Lesson 1: Physical Boundaries: Safe and Unsafe Touching Rules 
Physical Boundaries: Safe and Unsafe Touching Rules. Students learn simple rules about what to do and how to react when someone’s touch is confusing, scary, or makes the child or young person feel uncomfortable. Young people start to deal with the real risks they face when they are out in the world and on their own, and they begin to learn where to draw boundary lines in relationships. 

 Lesson 2: Safe Adults, Safe Touches and Special Safe Adults. 
Children, young people, and their parents establish basic guidelines for working together to make certain which friends and other adults in their environment can be trusted to act safely and in the best interest of each child or young person.

Entorno Seguro

Capacitando a los Niños de Dios

Un programa de Virtus para niños en conjunto con los padres para ver y revisar lecciones que incluye un componente de video apropiado para la edad junto con actividades de aprendizaje atractivas. El material está diseñado para equipar mejor a sus hijos para que conozcan sus derechos de seguridad, reconozcan sus límites y se capaciten para protegerse a sí mismos cuando los adultos seguros no estén disponibles de inmediato y, en última instancia, estén más seguros de las personas que podrían querer hacerles daño. 
Como padres que imparten este contenido a sus hijos, existe una útil guía de recursos para ayudarles a impartir cada lección si deciden utilizarla. Este recurso, «Guía para la enseñanza de límites y seguridad», le ayudará a usted, el padre, a tener una mejor perspectiva sobre cómo impartir la lección. Después de la lección, le animamos a seguir reforzando el mensaje en casa siempre que sea posible.

Lección 1: Límites físicos: Reglas de contacto físico seguro e inseguro 
Límites físicos: Reglas seguras e inseguras para tocar. Los alumnos aprenden reglas sencillas sobre qué hacer y cómo reaccionar cuando el contacto de alguien les confunde, les asusta o les hace sentirse incómodos. Los jóvenes empiezan a enfrentarse a los riesgos reales que corren cuando salen al mundo y están solos, y empiezan a aprender dónde trazar los límites en las relaciones.

Lección 2: Adultos seguros, caricias seguras y adultos seguros especiales. 
Los niños, los jóvenes y sus padres establecen directrices básicas para trabajar juntos y asegurarse de que se puede confiar en que los amigos y otros adultos de su entorno actuarán de forma segura y en el mejor interés de cada niño o joven.

Fecha límite: Todas las lecciones deben completarse antes del 8 de enero de 2025. Una vez que haya completado ambas lecciones para el nivel de grado de su hijo, por favor complete y devuelva el Formulario de Firma requerido. Los formularios se pueden dejar o enviar por correo a la oficina de educación religiosa o por correo electrónico a sjtlccd@gmail.com.
